Submatriculation for Penn Undergraduates

Begin your master’s program as an undergraduate. Pursue advanced study in Social Work, Social Policy, or Nonprofit Leadership while completing your bachelor’s degree.

Undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania may apply for an accelerated program of master’s degree study by seeking admission to the School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) as submatriculants. Depending on the SP2 degree program, you may take up to two graduate courses per semester during your junior and senior years.

Interested students must follow the Policies Governing Submatriculation and the Application Process for Submatriculation of the College of Arts & Sciences, which are available on the College’s website(opens in a new tab), as well as the apply to SP2 section of our website. Individual programs of study will be determined jointly by College Academic Advisors and the Program Director/Advisor from the appropriate SP2 department.
